Dragon Refunds vs Threecolts Margin Pro

vsThreecolts Margin Pro

Threecolts charges 15% — plus $69 a month. Dragon Refunds charges 15%, and nothing else.

Threecolts is the big consolidator of the Amazon seller-tool world — it bought Tactical Arbitrage, InventoryLab, FeedbackWhiz, SmartRepricer and ScoutIQ and bundled them into Seller 365. Reimbursements are one module of that bundle, and of the enterprise Margin Pro service, which means the commission is only half the price: you also need a subscription. Here is an honest, side-by-side breakdown of the reimbursement side specifically.

The TL;DR

Choose Threecolts Margin Pro if

Choose Threecolts if you want ten seller tools in one subscription with reimbursements riding along inside it — especially if you recover enough each year to justify the $199/month Pro tier, where the commission drops to 5%, or if you are a multichannel or 1P brand that needs Walmart, Target and carrier recovery too.

Choose Dragon Refunds if

Choose Dragon Refunds if you only want reimbursements: a free audit that shows every recoverable dollar in about two minutes, free SOPs to file it yourself and keep 100%, or managed filing at 15% — with no monthly fee, no bundle, and nothing to cancel.

On a $10,000 recovery, Threecolts' Seller 365 Standard takes 15% ($1,500) plus $828 a year in subscription — about $7,672 kept. Dragon Refunds' managed filing at 15% leaves you $8,500, and filing yourself with our free SOPs leaves you the full $10,000. (Their 5% Pro tier keeps more — but only once you recover more than about $24,000 a year.)

Where Threecolts Margin Pro wins

We're not pretending Threecolts Margin Pro is a bad service. Here's where it's genuinely a fit.

The lowest managed rate in the category — 5%

On Seller 365 Pro ($199/month) and Brands 10K ($1,199/month), Threecolts drops the reimbursement commission to 5%. Nobody else in this comparison set goes below 15%. If you recover enough each year for the subscription to disappear into the savings, 5% is genuinely the cheapest per-dollar managed filing you can buy.

Ten tools for the price of one subscription

Threecolts spent years acquiring the tools sellers already pay for — Tactical Arbitrage for sourcing, InventoryLab for accounting, FeedbackWhiz for reviews, SmartRepricer, ScoutIQ — and packaged them as Seller 365 from $69/month. If you were going to buy several of those anyway, reimbursements come along at no extra subscription cost, and that is a real bargain we do not try to match.

Recovery well beyond Amazon FBA

Margin Pro is three services, not one: 3P seller reimbursements, 1P vendor deduction recovery, and carrier optimization. It covers Walmart WFS, Target, TikTok Shop, Home Depot and Best Buy among others, plus FedEx, UPS and DHL shipping-cost recovery. Dragon Refunds is Amazon FBA only. A multichannel brand or a 1P vendor has leakage we simply do not look at.

They reopen claims Amazon underpaid

Threecolts explicitly challenges "reimbursement revaluations" — claims Amazon already settled, but settled too low. That is a fiddly, high-effort category, and building it into an automated audit is a real piece of engineering worth crediting.

Where Dragon Refunds wins

The reasons sellers switch.

Their 15% is not the whole price. Ours is.

Threecolts' published rate is 15% on Seller 365 Standard ($69/month), Teams ($129), Brands 1K ($179) and Brands 5K ($599) — the same 15% Dragon Refunds charges for managed filing. The difference is that ours is the entire cost. Theirs sits on top of at least $828 a year in subscription, which you pay whether or not a single claim is recovered.

The 5% tier needs ~$24,000 a year recovered to pay off

Seller 365 Pro costs $2,388 a year ($2,196 billed annually) to unlock the 5% rate. Against our flat 15% you save 10 percentage points on every dollar — so you need to recover roughly $24,000 a year before that subscription earns its keep, about $22,000 on annual billing. Below that line, our 15% with no subscription is cheaper. Against our free self-file tier it never wins on price at all.

You can keep 100%

Threecolts has no self-file path — their team files, and a commission comes out either way. Dragon Refunds runs the audit free, shows you exactly which claims are recoverable, and hands you a step-by-step SOP to file each one through Seller Central yourself. Do that and you pay nothing at all. Hand off only the messy ones at 15% if you would rather not.

See your number in two minutes, not after a sales call

To get reimbursement numbers out of Margin Pro you book a 15-minute call and pick your revenue bracket, then their AI audit scans up to nine months of data over the following ten days. Dragon Refunds connects through Amazon's official SP-API — read-only by default — and shows your full recoverable total in about two minutes, before you talk to anyone or pay anything.

Nothing to cancel

Threecolts' Trustpilot reviews are mixed, and the recurring complaint is about the subscription rather than the recovery work: sellers reporting difficulty cancelling Seller 365 and disputed charges. That risk is structural — it exists because there is a subscription. Dragon Refunds has none. If you stop using it you stop paying, and the SP-API connection is revocable from Seller Central in one click.

An itemized ledger, and the category they skip

Dragon Refunds itemizes the cause of every claim — the exact lost shipment, damaged unit, fee mismatch or COGS error — and keeps the full found → filed → paid → denied ledger visible. It also chases COGS and sourcing-cost errors, where Amazon reimburses lost units below what they actually cost you. That category is not in Threecolts' published scope.
